Loid Forger, the greatest spy that the Westalian Intelligence has to offer

The Immortal Tatsu, The Yakuza leader turned house husband  

Whether you're a spy, a former Yakuza member, or work a 9 to 5 there's nothing harder than the continuous challenge that comes with being a husband, but these two anime men make it look easy, will Loid live to complete his mission or will Tatsu continue his househusband ways

BEFORE WE START...

This will cover both the anime and manga for both combatants so spoilers ahead for anyone who's yet to watch or read both of them, oh and one more thing since Tatsu doesn't really care any weapons on him anymore im allowing him to use house items like his knife and Shirasaya blade.

Since we don't really have full details on Loids full equipment i will only be using what we have seen him use on screen and in the manga.

Backstory

Loid Forger (Twilight)

• Age: Unknown but looks to be around his his late twenties or early thirties
• Aliases: Twilight, Dr. Loid Forger, Robert, Lionel, Lawrence, Roland Spoofy, Twi-Guy 
• Married to Yor Forger
• Works for WISE (Westalian Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division)

Not much is known about Twlight's life, not even his real name or age. What's shown about his past is mostly his childhood, where he became a war orphan, and later as a soldier in the war with Ostania and becoming the spy known as Twilight. He rarely remembers his childhood, to the point where he can no longer recall his parents' faces. Twilight was raised in Luwen, Eastern Westalis. His father was strict with a pacifistic view on war, while his mother was very loving towards him and often sang him lullabies. Their conflicting views on parenting Twilight resulted in the two frequently arguing with each other, much to Twilight's distress. Twilight was good friends with three other boys, whom he frequently played games with at an old army storage depot he found. The boys gave each other army-related nicknames such as "Major," "Corporal," and "General," while he was called "Advisor." He desired to join the army with his friends when they became older, wanting to "kill all those awful monsters from the east." However, his father deeply disapproved of his ambition and activities, hitting him and berating his ignorance of Ostanians and approach towards conflict.

the Ostanian Army crossed the border and began to attack the eastern provinces of Westalis, launching a bomb at the friends' hideout. They continued to attack the rest of Luwen, devastating the town square. Twilight survived the explosions, being protected by some debris by his helmet, but was left with a deep gash on his head. Twilight evacuated from his hometown with his mother, and they were able to lay low with her relatives in Kielberg. This calm was short-lived, as Kielberg was also attacked by an air raid, and Twilight lost his mother. He was then left to survive on his own amidst the chaos. Twilight had nothing left in his life except hatred towards Ostania, so when he grew older, he joined the Westalis army under the identity of "Roland Spoofy," taking the name of a dead older man from his hometown and lying about his age. Twilight fought in the East-West conflict, using his skills as a tactician to win battles, eventually earning the rank of sergeant after many officers died in combat.

Twilight began to reflect on the loss of his friends and his conversation with the deserter. He realized he knew nothing about the war and had been fighting his enemies with blind rage the whole time. He concluded that "Ignorance isn't bliss. Ignorance is a weakness. Ignorance is a sin." Sometime after, Twilight was approached by a man who knew his real name, and he enlisted with a fake name and age. The man revealed himself as military intelligence and had come to recruit Twilight. Threatening to have Twilight court-martialed if he refused to join, the man instructed him to pack his things and meet him at a station at a later date. Given time to think about his choice, Twilight sat with his friends' dog tags in hand and told himself that all the information in the world would not bring them back now and that nothing he did would allow him to return to the days of his youth. Twilight arrived at the station to meet with the man, who took his belongings and threw them into a nearby fire, then told him to toss away his name and rank to become a shadow for his country. Twilight responded that no one knows his real name, adding that he does not care about his country or winning the war. After being asked what his reasons were, Twilight thought about his new goal: to make a world where kids don't need to cry.

After joining WISE, he met Sylvia Sherwood, who became his new commanding officer and handler and turned him into a first-rate intelligence operative using the harshest means necessary. In between this time and before the beginning of Operation Strix, Twilight mentored Agent Nightfall. When receiving Operation Strix, Twilight had been working as a spy for around ten years, undertaking countless missions for the sake of creating a better world.

    The Immortal Tatsu

• Age: 27
• Aliases: Boss/Bossman, Immortal Tatsu, The Immortal Dragon, Big Tatsu, Immortal Claus
• Married to Miku
• Former Yakuza leader 
• One of the best househusbands 

Tatsu is known as the immortal dragon and a legendary Yakuza boss. Tattooed with a dragon on his back and an eerie look almost all the time he is a notorious gangster ready to harm anybody, only to one day he decided to quit his ways and become a househusband to the love of his life, Miku. They first met when Miku found him injured after Tatsu endured a bloody battle, to which she carried him to safety. After an unspecified amount of time, they got married.

Now Tatsu dedicates himself to cleaning the house, cooking, and taking care of all homely responsibilities. He's an excellent cook, often making everything with a "cute" flair. It's hard for him to leave the house without being recognized by authorities or other yakuza. 

Experience & Skill

Loid Forger (Twilight)

Twilight had been a spy for over ten years, having previously served in the Westalian military and contributed to the death of tens of thousands of enemies. All things considered, Loid is a jack of all trades.

Loid can project whatever personality is necessary for his mission, though his true personality is rather cold and methodical, doing whatever it takes to complete the mission, from joining terrorist organizations to dating a target's daughter to becoming a father. Loid's title as Westalis's greatest spy is quite deserved. His skills, both physical and mental, are second to none. He can effortlessly disarm an army of well-trained spies and remain ice-cold under pressure, able to calmly analyze any given situation and create a plan in seconds. He can not only figure out an entire person's personality and develop a tailored list of answers to any question they could ask, but can keep track of that list in his mind, as well as an extensive number of codes.

Being a spy, Loid makes great efforts to understand others around him, whether it be his targets or his fake family, looking to find what makes them tick or the kind of individual they truly are. However, by Loid's own admission, he does not understand women or children. This has caused him no small amount of frustration in dealing with his family, as their unpredictable natures and ridiculous shenanigans often cause him to overthink his interactions with them.

The Immortal Tatsu

As a former Yakuza member, Tatsu has a lot of fighting experience, as he has been through many fights in his time and even destroyed an entire rival gang by himself.

Tatsu has shown his skills in being a husband and a cook, as he can pretty much cook anything he sees and make his wife proud, for a husband he can still throw down and take punishment as he's able to beat his former gang member with a hard slap and tank getting smacked in the face with a piece of wood

Equipment

Loid Forger (Twilight)

Gun

Twilight's main weapon is a handgun, which he demonstrates great accuracy and physical coordination in using. He can shoot three men while fighting off another three in close range.

Briefcase

Twilight carries a briefcase with him whenever he needs it, it's usually meant to help him look like he's going to work but he's also used it to hide his disguises 

Mini-telescope

Loid has been seen using a mini-telescope more than once throughout the anime, it's safe to assume that he carries it on him. The telescope is used to spy on his targets from afar.

Stab-proof fabric

Loid has a suit that is made with stab-proof fabric meant to help him reduce the pain of stab wounds (as seen above) or outright block them on impact.

Bulletproof vest

Loid has a a bulletproof vest on him in case he might get shot if he goes on a mission, this helps him block and stop bullets shot at him

Communication device

Twilight has access to a communication device that allows him to communicate with WISE in case he needs anything for his mission, just like when he asked for a bunch of other spies, a castle, and a blimp to recreate a show that Anya watches

Listening device

Loid asked Franky to make him a listening device which he used on Yor, this helps loid hear what his target is saying so he can use it as information

Hat

Nothing important here tbh, I just found it funny how he always rocks this hat 

The Immortal tatsu 

Knife

Tatsu has his signature knife which he uses for cooking, he's shown to be pretty proficient with it as well

Shirasaya

Besides his amazing cooking knife, Tatsu keeps a Shirasaya around his house. The Shirasaya which translates to “white sheath” was designed to tightly seal keeping oxygen out while providing a protective skin around the katana blade. They would often be put on display proudly in the samurai home because they housed a precious family heirloom.

note: Loid has other things like alcohol tolerance and a expert cars man but these don't really matter in a 1v1 fight

Genius level intellect

Twilight's greatest weapon is his intelligence, which would be considered genius level by most definitions. He has a keen mind and has showcased exceptionally high-level intellectual feats on numerous occasions. He has a borderline photographic memory, and once demonstrated the ability to recall the individual names of over 200 penguins simply by skimming over a list of their names and dietary habits, as well as remembering Yor from a long list of numerous potential wife candidates. He has also memorized the Ostanian Intelligence manual, allowing him to immediately see through Yuri's cover story. He once claimed to have read every book in a particular library and also memorized the faces and features of Donovan Desmond's security team while having a conversation with the man.

He is immensely observant to the point he can recognize the smallest of details, such as noticing his former apartment being raided before opening the door and a tennis court being composed of 36 distinct panels. He was even able to deduce Martha Marriott being an experienced former soldier by simply observing the way she presents herself. Loid is shown to have an unusually fast and complex thought process. He is capable of thinking and analyzing situations at incredible speeds, usually at 0.1 seconds, and can process immense amounts of information instantaneously, making it difficult for Anya to read his mind at certain points. On such occasions, she has been seen to become mildly woozy, which would typically only occur if she was in the midst of a crowd and being exposed to many people's thoughts simultaneously.

Trap mastery

Loid demonstrates remarkable proficiency in devising and implementing highly effective traps that can immobilize enemies and help him gain the advantage when going against multiple foes. Notably, he possesses the skill to conceal these traps to such a degree that even the SSS, despite thoroughly surveying the terrain, remains unaware of their existence. His ability to hide traps with such precision adds an element of surprise and advantage to his tactical approach. Even as a child, he showed a level of ingenuity in the war games he played with his friends, putting together a bucket trap and a rubber band gun to quickly turn around a situation where his side was losing. He would later use the same tactic when fighting in the war.

Master of disguise

Twilight has immaculate stealth and is a master of disguise, with his ability to seamlessly pass off as other people with different body types and characteristics, even down to their voices. Since he was a child, Twilight himself has even admitted that he tends to get into roles he plays, to the point that one of his friends pointed out his intensity when they played war games. Twilight has utilized this ability in countless missions; as long as he has enough intel on the individual, like watching old home videos of them, he can pull off a believable impersonation. His skill is such that Ostanian Intelligence does not have the first clue as to what he actually looks like, despite numerous agents of theirs knowing for certain that they have encountered him.

Loid can also do the same for others, creating costumes for Franky Franklin and Fiona so they can pose as SSS agents, in one case even creating a male disguise for Fiona. Loid was even able to pull off the part of a sumo wrestler in the Far East, in spite of the fact that he has nowhere near the girth required to be one. With his disguises, Twilight has always been able to evade capture from his enemies. In rare instances, he has been close to being cornered due to the enemy having more intel and thought ahead of him or outside factors, but was able to escape due to his quick thinking.

Peak human attributes

Twilight has shown to be above that of a normal person on multiple occasions, his strength is above average to the point he is shown throwing a grown men at a few meters away, destroying a wooden table with a single precise punch, and unplugging a lead pipe to use as melee weapon. Twilight has also demonstrated peak durability as seen when he was able to take and block hits from Yor who's strength is ranked at 100 and he even survived a car crash.

Twilight is phenomenally athletic and deft. He is fast enough to take down multiple people without much trouble, can escape a trained dog by performing various parkour maneuvers, and agile enough to leap from a tall bridge and pounce on a purse thief without being impacted by the landing.

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant

 Twilight is an exceptionally well-trained spy in unarmed combat, capable of dispatching a group of armed thugs and even fellow trained WISE spies by himself. Even more impressive is his ability to hold his own against Yor despite her seemingly superhuman strength. 

Expert marksman

Twlight has shown his ablity with guns more than once as his accuracy is second to none, being able to shoot off the straps attaching a bomb to a dog while it pounced at him, and even shot a gun out of someone's hand no problem and that while he was shot in the arm himself

Master polymath

 Twilight has demonstrated a borderline superhuman ability to master essentially any skill in an extremely short time span. This includes lockpicking, basic forgery, lip reading, bomb defusing, and military dog training. He can also do basic household chores such as sewing and, particularly, cooking. When partaking in a tennis competition with only a short period of practice, his performance was decisively superior to that of numerous professional players. During another mission, he also managed to convincingly play the part of a professional sumo wrestler, which would have been impossible without being able to imitate that particular skill set.

This ability also extends to leisure activities that he has presumably never previously partaken in, such as horseback riding with Anya, surfing, and building absurdly large and detailed sandcastles. To help Anya study, he even once drew and voice-acted a cartoon indistinguishable from her Bondman show after having simply "studied the show's art and composition style." Unfortunately, while the cartoon itself was impeccably crafted, the incorporation of Anya's study material made it too complicated for her to follow.

Intimidation

Loid is capable of instilling great fear into his targets. During his final shot against the Campbells in their tennis match, he intimidates Carrol with his aura as he slams the ball under him. He is also able to inculcate fear into people with threats and the information he has on them.

The Immortal Tatsu

Peak human attributes

Tatsu has shown that his beyond normal human more than once, he's so strong that he's able to take out an entire rival group by himself and send a guy flying with a single smack and hit a volleyball so hard that and entire line of guys who caught it to get pushed back by the impact of the ball, his speed is second to none as he was able to put gloves on a man before he noticed and block a surprise knife attack, hell he even tanked a 2x4 and smiled like it was nothing

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant

Tatsu is not new to hand to hand combat as a former Yakuza member his been through many fights and is probably one of the best fighters in the show as he's easily able to beat down others who use weapons with newspapers, regular everyday items or just his hands, and knowing how real life Yakuza members know martial arts is safe to assume that Tatsu knows some form of martial arts himself, the most famous fighting styles for Yakuza includes street fighting, boxing, kick boxing, karate, judo and wrestling, Tatsu probably knows all or some of these due to his time as a boss

Weapon mastery

Tatsu is a master at using a knife, showing proficiency with it when it comes to cutting food and showing off with it (like with the gif at the start), as seen above he owns a Shirasaya, there's no doubt that he's pretty skilled with it and can use it for more than just showing it off.

Being a former Yakuza boss Tatsu is most likely familiar with all types of weapons like pocket knives, all types guns, like handguns, shotguns and rapid firing guns and any other weapons they can get their hands on.

Weakness

Loid Forger (Twilight)

Twilight struggles to adapt to his latest mission, which requires him to start a family since he believes he will never have a family or live a normal life. He found this mission the most challenging and stressful, and it made him tired quickly, even if he only did trivial tasks. He is also pessimistic about the success rate of this mission due to many factors are beyond his current ability, including dealing with small children.

The Immortal Tatsu

Because of him being a well known boss of the Yakuza is hard for him to go out with being recognized by other Yakuza members or stop by cops or feared by normal people who expect him to be ruthless pretty much making his normal life hard to live, he also refuses to kill anyone as he doesn't want to be like his past self, he's getting used to this as time passes by, maybe his past could lead to a spy coming after him for what's he has done?? 

Before the verdit

What's up with Loid scaling to Yor??

Yes you are right Loid doesn't fully scale to Yor simply because she's a lot stronger than him but the keyword is fully scales, thanks' to him standing his ground against her when she was drunk and taking her blows and still going even taking a full on kick to the face before he knocked out and with them only having a strength difference of 30 - 40 points Loid is not to far off in strength from her and is one of the few characters who could actually fight on par with her, so him downscaling from her would make the most sense, Simply just divide any of Yor's feats by 30 or 40 and there you go, that's how much Loid would get from that.

Verdict

Stats

Starting off with stats due to the nature of their series these two are fairly grounded, with both of them being around the joules to kilojoules range of AP, Tatsu as shown his inhuman strength more than once being able to throw balls with enough force to break the sound barrier, sending multiple men back just by smacking a volleyball hard enough and that's him not trying to hurt them imagine what he could do if he actually tried hitting someone or wait he did, being a house husband Tatsu doesn't throw hands, he smacks the shit out of you just like he did to Masa when he sent him flying through glass with a single smack this resulted to 9.197292324 Kilojoules pretty impressive for a househusband and higher than Anya's, Damian's and even Loid's own table smashing feat, but scaling Loid to Billy and Yor gives him the stat advantage, even tho for Yor you have to divide the clac by 30 or 40 to get Loid's share of it, both are them is still higher than Tatsu smack.

Speed is more clear cut than AP, Tatsu has shown to be able to break the sound barrier by throwing a ball fast enough and even move fast enough to pretty much blitz a guy before he could react to him, he should also be comprable to Tora who threw a spatula faster than the eye can see easily placing him at subsonic speeds but Loid is just faster with better showing of his speed like dodging a bullet which is claced at Mach 0.36 or when barely dodging an attack from Yor, now while he barley dodged, Yor is faster than anything Tatsu has ever faced, Yor even onced served a tennis ball at a speed of Mach 1.07 or that one time she dodged a spear at Mach 2.9. Loid should also sclae to Fiona who reacted to the supersonic serve which was clac to be Mach 3.16, all above Tatsu faster than eye speed making Loid fast enough to blitz Tatsu.

Aresenal/Abilities

While Tatsu has superhuman strength (as seen above) and thanks to being in the Yakuza he knows alot of fighting style which would come in handle in a fist against Twilight but sadly for Tatsu Loid just gets another point for free as with his superhuman brain he could probably come up with a plan while fighting Tatsu and knowing him he would most likely learn about Tatsu before the fights even starts as he been shown and said to learn everything about a person in a glance making it easy for him to come up with ideas to most, with how fast he thinks it wont take forever for him to think about it as he can think as fast as 0.1 seconds, dont forget Loid is a master at Traps as he tends to use them in his fighting style hinding them so well that his enemies don't even notice them using them to distract his target for he can go in for a quick kill, something that Tatsu won't be aware of and not ready for.

Another thing that helps Loid is what's probably his trump card here, his disguise's, Loid always find a way to put on a disguise even on mission wear he doesn't bring anything to hide them, like during the boat trip where he dressed up as a worker to diffuse a bomb, or when he dressed as a enemy to get close to his target, Loid could literally be anywhere at any time and Tatsu would have no idea.

Nothing much has to be said about equipment except for that Tatsu doesn't own any guns, his house is really full of cleaning items and cooking items like knifes but there is his Shirasaya blade which could be used for close combat but one thing about Tatsu is that he won't kill, he promised his wife, so if he did have to use it, it would be with the cover over it, while in the other hand Twilight has listing deivce, bullet and stab proof vest, a mini telescope, a device that he could use before any mission to get the items he needs and a gun, yup a gun vs sword fight wonder who wins that huh, and the most important thing out of all of these Loid is actually willing to kill for his mission something that really holds back Tatsu in a fight like this.

Tertiary Factors

Before we move on let's talk about experience, now we don't know how long Tatsu was a Yakuza member for but we do know during his time he was the leader and one of the most known Yakuza members, meaning that Tatsu has alot of expience with weapons and fighting, but the same can be said for Twlight who has been a spy for over 10 years and has been part of many mission, been in the military and is also a master hand to hand combatant, its most likley safe to assume that Loid as overall more experence thanks to his missions, his time in mutiple wars, and being a spy for over 10 years.

In the end while Tatsu is known and feard by many Yakuza members due to his brute strength, Loid just kind of one ups him on everything, his stronger, faster, more durable, his equipment's makes the fight easier for him as Tatsu would have to deal with them and him and his many disguises make it alot harder for Tatsu to try and find him, i can keep going on about how Loid pretty much wins but by now you get the deal oh and one more, Loid has a gun.

The winner... is Loid Forger (Twilight)
